Electronic Cigarettes: what do the packet warnings mean?

Posted by 2 on

We're often asked about the warnings printed on the packets of our electronic cigarettes and e shishas and although some of them may seem alarming to look at, they're only there to advise you of the potential problems you may encounter. Below is a guide to the warnings found on the packaging of Litejoy products. Toxic if Swallowed (R25) - Litejoy electronic cigarettes and eliquids may contain nicotine which is a toxic substance and is dangerous if swallowed in large quantities. Generally there isn't enough nicotine in a cartomiser to cause danger to an adult but ingesting nicotine is not recommended. Small amounts from the tip of a cartomiser or mouthpiece shouldn't cause you any harm but if you're concerned it is always best to seek medical advice. Full bottles of eliquid should not be ingested as they contain greater volumes of nicotine and can be harmful. Very toxic in contact with skin (R27) - Again, Litejoy electronic cigarettes and eliquids may contain nicotine which is toxic and can be absorbed through the skin. If products containing nicotine come into contact with skin, wash immediately and thoroughly until the eliquid is completely removed. Keep locked up and out of reach of children (S1/2) - Nicotine is highly toxic to children, please keep all electronic cigarette products containing nicotine out of reach of childen. In case of inhalation or ingestion by children, please seek medical advice immediately. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (S45) - As with any products, there is a chance that you may have a sensitivity to the ingredients in electronic cigarettes. If you experience any symptoms or feel unwell, discontinue use and seek medical advice immediately. If you have any pre-existing illnesses or are taking medications, you should consult your doctor before using electronic cigarettes. Not to be used by pregnant/breast feeding women - Although electronic cigarettes don't contain the chemicals found in tobacco cigarettes, they may still contain nicotine which is a stimulant and has been linked to an increase in ADHD. We recommend that as with any smoking related products, you do not use them while pregnant or breastfeeding. Not to be sold to anyone under 18 years - All products sold by Litejoy, whether they contain nicotine or not, are treated as smoking devices and we will not knowingly sell our products to under 18's. By purchasing from our website, you must confirm that you're over 18. EC Label EC 200-193-3 -  This is the EU regulations number for the nicotine in the product.
