Electronic Cigarettes and the New Regulations – 12 June 2013
Posted by 2 on
Yesterday it was announced by The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) that Electronic Cigarettes will require a license from 2016 as a medical product.
At Litejoy we welcome this decision, and take this news as a great opportunity as we believe our products are made in a strict quality controlled environment having undergone stringent testing before they are manufactured, then re-inspected before being shipped and then again before being sold on to our customers.
We believe that after the clinical trials we will gain approval by 2016 and be in a strong position to continue to sell our brand with confidence.
The clinical trials leading up to approvals as required by MHRA could cost manufacturers up to £2m which we believe will benefit the electronic cigarette industry. We strongly feel the regulation is required within the industry to ensure that only high quality products are supplied to consumers, this regulation will no doubt eliminate manufacturers supplying lower quality products from the market.
We continue to sell the Litejoy brand as normal with pride, and are fully prepared for any challenges to meet the requirements of the regulation so that our customers can continue to use our products with confidence that they are safe, are of the right quality and work.
